In 5 days, I’m moving to Rio De Janeiro Brazil…and I could not be more excited about it.
Ipanema Beach – Where I’ll Be Living
This journey begins with the conclusion of a special one.
Two weeks ago was my last day at SinglePlatform. My experience there made the past 2 years the best ones of my life and I couldn’t be more fortunate to have spent everyday with such incredible people. I love you guys.
So…uh…why are you doing this?
Well, there’s a lot of reasons.
If I had 100 million dollars, here’s what I’d do consistently after an egregious vacation:
Live in a beautiful place with great friends
Create and do things that help people lead happier, more fulfilling lives
Work on improving and better understanding myself
Consistently …

We humans are a funny bunch.
We run and lift weights to get better bodies. We study to get good grades and improve our professional acumen. Some of us even spend time in the sun browning our skin because we think it will make us more attractive!! Arrribbaaa <333
But it seems like few people intentionally work their get more of everything they ever wanted muscle.
In my experience, the most ubiquitously available key to getting more of everything you want is becoming more comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Some call this courage. Others call it a tolerance for rejection.
Whatever you want to call it, the gap between where we are today and where we want to be is often inaction rooted in fear.
The crazy …

Two days ago I found my favorite podcast episode ever <3333
It was an interview with Noah Kagan on Patt Flynn’s Smart Passive Income.
Amongst all the awesomeness Noah mentioned, he brought up the coffee challenge. If you’re not familiar, it’s an exercise meant to help people get more comfortable with rejection. Basically you go to a coffee shop and ask for 10% for no reason…Oh hay guaranteed rejection!
I love this idea because I think the fear of rejection and failure is the biggest thing that holds people back from getting everything they ever wanted. So 15 minutes after listening to the podcast I decided to give it a whirl!
Some quick notes:
The first time I did the coffee challenge was …

It’s time to be publicly accountable!
In November of last year I posted a set of goals for 2013 on this here tablet with the hope that it’d keep me accountable for accomplishing all that I wanted to.
Well it’s halfway through the year and I figured I’d let the team know how I was holding up. But first…
Did posting my goals publicly actually help with progress?
Absolutely. It comes down to understanding the human condition: there’s a theory that we all strive to be congruent and consistent with whatever we say we’re going to do because it signals integrity, a quality which we strive for.
I found this to be absolutely true. I was motivated by my desire to remain consistent with …

In this edition of the Life-Long Learner Show (that’s right I’m calling it a show now), I sit down with Jason Shen, Co-founder of Ridejoy and The Art of Ass Kicking.
Jason is an accomplished dude across the board: National Champion Gymnast, Y-Combinator Alum, Stanford Grad. The guy has done some cool stuff which made this interview really fun to do.
In this interview we talk about:
Some surprising benefits of being authentic about your self-improvement journey
A primer on rejection therapy: what it is, why he did it, and how to get started if you want to push your comfort zone
How evolutionary biology plays a role in human behavior
The power of branding a “habit change” and how this can actually make behavior change …

As much as I love the crisp taste of a Hefewiezen, a few months ago I finally came to terms with the fact that continuing to indulge in alcohol was preventing me from becoming the person I want to be.
I’ve never had a drinking problem….but like a lot of people in their early to mid twenties, I’ve formed a habit of sometimes drinking more than I should, especially when going out.
For the longest time, it didn’t seem to be like a big deal to me. After all it’s what practically every person I hang out with does.
We’re going out? Let’s have a few drinks (to be more fun)!!!
But amidst the crazy next day stories and contrived “we’re having …

Be honest with yourself – why do you want to make A LOT of money?
Is it because you want to:
gain acceptance from peers?
have total autonomy over your time?
be more attractive to the opposite sex so you can find your ideal mate?
have really nice things?
to travel to really epic places? (so you can post the pictures on instagram!)
create the biggest impact possible?
feel like you’re successful? (You’ve made it baby!)
I challenge anyone reading this to take a moment to be 100% honest with themselves and answer this question – why do you want to make a lot of money?
If people without families to support are brutally honest with themselves, BTW sadly few are, and they juxtapose their life with the …

Read this quote and tell me you’re not compelled to evaluate your life…
“Your willingness to look foolish is a small price to pay to get everything you ever wanted”
WHOWZERS…..The crazy thing is it’s true.
In this post, I’m going to tell you how to overcome fear so you can get the things you want…
I strongly believe that the biggest thing that holds us back from getting everything we want is fear. Fear to look dumb. Fear to fail. Fear for retribution. Fear to even ask for what you want!!!
You know what’s weird? I bet 99% of the time your fears are completely irrational and self-fabricated. Most of us create justifications not to do …
